On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, the Board of Commissioners of PUD No. 1 of Okanogan County passed Resolution No. 1567 amending electric service rate schedules.  The primary goals of the Board were to create a simpler billing structure and minimize the impact of rate changes on the majority of our residential customers while still attempting to recover a portion of the fixed cost of providing electrical service.

The new rate schedule combines the $25 Minimum Energy Charge and the $10 Basic Charge into one, $35 Basic Charge.  The 500 kilowatt hour (kwh) allowance previously included in the energy charge will be removed.  To offset this change, the charge for the first 2,000 kwh of use will decrease from the current $.05750 to $.04350.  The price for usage over 2,000 kwh will remain the same, at $.06316.

Check our rate calculator that shows the estimated impact of these changes based on an individual’s usage.
