IMPORTANT POWER RATE ADJUSTMENT NOTICE

The cost of purchased power is a primary factor in the cost of providing electricity to customers. To promote financial stability, Resolution 1506 adopted in 2010 authorized the implementation of cost of power adjustments (COPA's) following changes in the District's cost of purchased power. The COPA appears on a separate line on your monthly bill and is calculated by multiplying the number of kilowatt hours (kWh) used by the COPA amount, currently $.0024. Recent increases in the cost of power are anticipated to cost the District nearly $1 million in 2014, triggering a corresponding cost of power increase of $.0016. Effective December 1, 2013, the COPA amount will be $.004. For a residential customer using 500 kWh per month, the increase will total $.80. A customer using 1,000 kWh per month will see an increase of $1.60. For more information please contact one of the District offices.
