At 1:08 p.m. yesterday, Okanogan PUD de-energized the transmission line between Malott and Twisp due to a pole fire that appears to be started by a lightning strike.  PUD crews were restricted from making the necessary repairs until 3:28 p.m. by order of the Department of Natural Resources.  Upon receiving permission to repair our facilities, the PUD completed restoration activity and re-energized the line at 5:14 p.m.  Approximately 5,000 people were without power, including the Towns of Malott, Twisp and Winthrop.
