At its March 6th meeting, the PUD Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. 1538 adjusting electric rates for irrigation services.  The Board of Commissioners approved the new irrigation rates after a review that was initiated due to concerns from irrigators regarding horsepower charges.  An overwhelming concern expressed by irrigators was that they wanted to pay for power when they used it and not a horsepower charge that was billed even when there was no use.  The review included several meetings between staff and a small group of irrigators.  The new rates include a small fixed monthly basic charge, an energy charge (kWh) and a demand charge (kW).  These rates are effective for billings on, or after, April 1, 2012.
