The fire yesterday (July 15th) destroyed one transmission line structure on the Loup transmission line, causing a loss of power to all customers served by the Twisp substation and the Malott substation as well as members of the Okanogan County Co-op.

The outage started at 2:30 PM and initially affected 6200 total customers of the PUD and members of the Co-op.

Power was restored at 5:00 PM to approximately 900 PUD customers served by the Malott substation by transferring as much load as possible to the Okanogan and Ophir substations.  This left approximately 200 customers out of power in the Pleasant Valley area.

Power was restored to the Methow at 11:30 PM.

The Pleasant Valley area served by the Malott substation had power restored at 1:15 PM today (July 16th) when the crews completed the replacement of three transmission structures destroyed by the fire on the transmission tap to the Malott substation as well as two distribution poles.
