Attorney Richard Roos-Collins of the Water & Power Law Group presented the Okanogan County PUD board with a memorandum that describes a disciplined process and potential feasible pathway to pursue removal of Enloe Dam.

Roos-Collins provided a brief overview of his recommended process at a June 13 board meeting. The memo analyzes potential liabilities arising from dam removal, along with strategies to avoid and manage such liabilities. 

In other business June 13, the board:

  • Approved Change Order No. 20 with the Max J. Kuney Company in an amount not to exceed $90,000 and a budget amendment to the Regulatory and Environmental Department capital budget, for owner-directed work.
  • Approved Resolution 1773, updating board meeting procedures to reflect updated Open Public Meetings Act guidelines.
  • Heard that the PUD’s equity management plan will be updated, considering new power purchasing pressures from both Clean Energy Transformation Act requirements and resource adequacy concerns.
  • Heard that staff are developing a new rate for electric vehicle fast-charging stations.
  • Heard that a PUD vehicle was vandalized over the weekend, leading the PUD to increase lighting at their facilities.
