For the 2020 Public Power Week Oct. 5-8, the Okanogan County PUD will hold drive-through only booths in four area communities to hand out kids activity bags and share information about energy efficiency.

The bags include coloring and activity books, crayons, pens, pencils, stickers, and other goodies. The energy efficiency bags include booklets, magnets, sticky notes and more.

Due to guidance from health officials, only drive-through is allowed for the booths – no walk-ups, please.

The booths will be open from noon to 6 p.m. each day. On Monday, the booth will be in front of the Pateros-Brewster Community Resource Center (old grocery store at 169 Pateros Mall Suite A). On Tuesday, in the Methow Valley Community Center parking lot. On Wednesday, the booth will be at the Hope Lutheran Church, 623 N. Whitcomb. On Thursday, the booth will be at the east end of the Okanogan PUD office parking lot.

During that week only, an online drawing will also be held for a hand-crank/solar radio with USB charger, water bottle and other items. The webpage to take entries is only live during that timeframe.

Winners of a K-5 coloring contest will also be announced throughout Public Power Week on the district’s Facebook page.

Public Power Week is held annually nationwide to recognize the benefits of public power, which is less expensive, more reliable and cleaner across the United States. Learn more at www.publicpower.org.
