The Okanogan County PUD Board of Commissioners recognized Megan Morrissey, accountant, for 15 years of service to the District at a Jan. 14 meeting.
Morrissey began in January 2004. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration in 2003, and is working on her master’s degree now. She has taken on such accounting projects as the 2014 and 2015 wildfire reporting for FEMA and Enloe licensing and pre-construction.
In other business, the board:
- Approved a contract with Asplundh Tree Expert Co. in the amount not to exceed $800,000 for tree trimming, as part of a continuous effort to reduce fire hazards and maintain clearance zones for power lines.
- Voted to leave the board organization as-is, with Jerry Asmussen as president, Bill Colyar as vice president and Scott Vejraska as secretary.
- Heard a power report from Power Resource and Telecom Manager Ron Gadeberg, that as of the end of November, wholesale power sales were nearly $2.1 million over budget, and retail power sales have come in almost $2.3 million under budget, so that all told, the power budget is about $210,000 behind. That has been largely due to where pricing has been, as well as mild weather driving retail sales down.
Gadeberg also reported that the snow pack report so far has led to BPA estimates of a 93 percent water year for the upcoming year, but estimates are still early.
